Mugumu sits three hours east of Musoma by bus along the B6 highway, serving as the practical hub for the Serengeti District. It is known for its weekly livestock auctions and straightforward roadside barbecue rather than safari lodges. Mugumu is worth visiting if you want an unfiltered look at Kuria daily commerce and a direct overland route toward the western Serengeti gates. Look elsewhere if you expect paved resort promenades, museum tours, or fine-dining options.
